βBehold, how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God!β
β 1 John 3:1 (WEB)This verse teaches us the wonderful truth that when we love Jesus, we become part of God's family and are called His children - what a special name to have!
Welcome to today's BibleMouse lesson! Let's start by looking in our mirror again. Say your name out loud! Yesterday we learned that God calls us by our name, just like He called Samuel and Mary. Today we're going to learn about another very special name we have!
Listen to this wonderful verse from God's Word: 'Behold, how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God!' Do you know what that means? When you love Jesus, you become part of God's family! God becomes your Heavenly Father, and you become His child. That's such a wonderful name - 'God's child!' You have your mommy and daddy here on earth, and you also have God as your Heavenly Father who loves you so much!
We're going to make a special family tree that shows you belong to God's family! This craft will help you remember that you are God's precious child.
Simpler: Pre-cut all pieces and just let child glue and color
Challenge: Add other family members' photos and talk about how your whole family can be God's children
Look at your beautiful family tree! You belong to God's family because you love Jesus. Let's practice saying 'I am God's child!' Say it with a big smile because it's such a happy thing!
Dear God, thank You for loving us so much that we can be called Your children. Help us remember that we belong to Your family. Amen.
Coming up: Tomorrow in our BibleMouse lesson, we'll learn that God knows everything about you - even when you sit down and stand up!
βGod made me special!β
β Psalm 139:14 (WEB)π― Activity: Practice our memory verse by doing special movements! Stand up tall and point to yourself when you say 'God made ME special!' Then give yourself a big hug because you are so special to God!
The concept of being 'adopted' into God's family through faith in Jesus is a foundational Christian truth. For PK3, focus on the love and security aspect rather than theological complexity. This builds on their understanding of earthly family relationships.
Some children may be confused about having two fathers (earthly and heavenly). Reassure them that God gives us earthly parents to take care of us here, and He is our Heavenly Father who loves us forever.
Child can say 'I am God's child' and shows understanding that God loves them like a father
