Lesson Plan

1Opening (3 min)

Welcome your little one to today's BibleMouse lesson! Start by looking in the mirror together and making silly faces. Say, 'Look who God made! He made YOU!' Give lots of hugs and smiles.

πŸ’ Review Question: Yesterday we learned about families. Who did God give you to love you?
2Teaching (5 min)

This week in our BibleMouse curriculum, we've been learning about how God made people! Today we're going to remember all the wonderful things we learned. God made you so special! He made your eyes to see, your ears to hear, your mouth to smile, and your hands to hug. The Bible tells us that God made people in His image - that means you are extra special to Him!

πŸ“Œ Key Talking Points:
  • God made YOU special and unique
  • God loves you SO much
  • You are precious to God just like you are
πŸ’¬ Discussion Questions:
  • What are some special things about you?
  • How does God show He loves you?
  • Who else did God make that loves you?
3Activity: My Special Book (6 min)
review

Create a simple 'I'm Special to God' book by folding paper in half. Help your child draw or color pictures of themselves, their family, and things that make them special while reviewing the week's lessons.

πŸ“ Instructions:
  1. Fold a piece of paper in half to make a little book
  2. On the first page, help child draw their face and say 'God made me!'
  3. On the second page, draw or glue a family photo and say 'God gave me family!'
  4. On the last page, draw a heart and say 'God loves me!'
  5. Read the book together several times with excitement
πŸ”„ Variations:

Simpler: Just use one page and let child scribble while you narrate about how special they are

Challenge: Add more pages with things they're thankful for or can do with their special bodies God gave them

4Closing (3 min)

Hold your child close and remind them how special they are. Look through their book together and celebrate each page. End with a big hug!

πŸ“ Review Questions:
  • Who made you special?
  • Does God love you?
πŸ™ Prayer:

Thank you, God, for making [child's name] so special! Thank you for loving us so much. Amen!

Coming up: Tomorrow we'll learn about the beautiful garden home God made for the first people!

Genesis 1:1

β€œGod made everything!”

β€” Genesis 1:1 (WEB)

🎯 Activity: Play 'God Made It!' pointing game - point to different things around the room (yourself, family photos, toys) and say together 'God made everything!' with big happy voices

Teaching Notes

πŸ“š Background:

This review lesson helps solidify the foundational truth that children are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. At this age, children are developing their sense of self, and knowing they are loved and special to God builds healthy identity.

πŸ’‘ Teaching Tips:
  • Use lots of physical affection and enthusiastic tone
  • Repeat 'God made you special!' frequently throughout the day
  • Let them look in mirrors often while affirming God's love
πŸ€” Common Struggles:

Some children may have short attention spans today - that's normal! Keep it light and playful.

πŸ‘€ Signs of Understanding:

Child responds positively when you say they're special, attempts to say 'God made me,' shows joy during the activities

Extension Activities

  • Throughout the day, point out special things about your child's body and abilities, saying 'God made you able to do that!'
  • Check your BibleMouse Resource Guide for additional review activities and songs for this week's theme
  • Look at baby photos together and talk about how God was taking care of them even when they were tiny
